Grant Amount: $500
Date In Effect: 2025-2026 School Year
Schools Impacted: Goose Hill Primary, West Side, and Lloyd Harbor Schools
During the final five days of the school year, librarians from Goosehill Primary, West Side, and Lloyd Harbor Schools will collaborate to hide 50 age-appropriate books at participating local businesses and accessible public spaces throughout the community.
Students and families will be invited to search for the hidden books, which they can keep once discovered. The initiative aims to build excitement around independent reading, encourage children to explore new books, and help prevent summer learning loss.
By extending reading beyond the classroom, the program brings families, schools, and local businesses together to celebrate literacy and foster a lasting love of reading.
