The Cold Spring Harbor Educational Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization comprised of volunteer parents and community members committed to providing the best public school education possible for our children. 

Our Beginning 

In 2012, a small group of Cold Spring Harbor School District community leaders recognized that private funding invested in our public schools would enhance creativity and innovation, and the Cold Spring Harbor Educational Foundation was born.

A thriving public school system is essential to the vitality and economic well-being of a community. Strong public schools prepare students to become productive workers and informed citizens, strengthen property values, and engender community pride. Cold Spring Harbor has long enjoyed a reputation for academic excellence in education and the Foundation funds grants that will continue to distinguish our schools among the top performing in the state and across the country.

The Foundation Fund

In 2013, the Foundation launched the Foundation Fund to ensure the fiscal stability and future excellence of the Cold Spring Harbor School District. New York State's changing economic landscape requires forward thinking and new ways to ensure we have the funding to support new curriculum initiatives and provide professional development to meet the needs of our 21st-century learners. Through an ongoing dialogue with the Board of Education, the Superintendent, and the community, the Foundation seeks to identify and support existing programs, as well as new programs, that will enrich our children's academic experience and best prepare them for the future. Our goal for the Foundation Fund each year is 100% community participation. 

From the personalized learning experiences using leading-edge reading and math programs in the youngest grades, to the expansion of robotics and computer coding into the elementary schools, to the enhancement of research capabilities in the High School Research Lab, the Foundation’s funding has had an immediate impact. Our students’ access to technology has increased by 50%, reading levels have increased by 25% when utilizing these new technologies, and, for the first time ever, high school science students are entering higher-level competitions and securing prestigious laboratory internships across Long Island.

 My son’s enthusiasm for math has skyrocketed since he started using eSpark. I’m so grateful my children have access to these personalized learning opportunities.
